Current News - Updated 21st March 2020 CLUB CLOSED
FOLLOWING THE GOVERNMENT'S RECENT EDICT THE CLUB HAS NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. WE WILL REOPEN AS SOON AS WE ARE ALLOWED TO.
The committee are very much aware of the growing concerns around coronavirus and the health and safety of all our Members and staff is our number one priority – particularly as we have several elderly members. There is a very important role that ALL Members and our staff have in keeping themselves and others safe and healthy. We ask that all members wash their hands on entering the Club and before being served
VERY IMPORTANT - Further to the recent government advice we would ask that anyone who feels feverish, has a high temperature or a new persistent cough must stay away from the club for 14 days. If you have had close personal contact with anyone who has displayed these symptoms or has recently returned to the UK from a foreign country, then you should please also refrain from using the club for 14 days.
HYGIENE: Hand hygiene is crucial to preventing the spread of germs. Public Health England (PHE) recommends that the following general cold and flu precautions are taken to help prevent people from catching& spreading COVID-19:
- Keep your hands clean, wash regularly and thoroughly, for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze. See Catch it, Bin it, Kill it. Put used tissues in the bin straight away.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
- Avoid personal contact with other members such as shaking hands or sharing bags of crisps, tasting each other’s drinks etc.
Club Opening Hours - The Club is operating its normal opening hours except that on Wednesday's the Club will now open at 4pm not 2pm. Our operating hours may be subject to change in line with govenment advise and we will keep members informed if there are any changes.
Campaign for Real Ale – The Club has either won or come runner up in CAMRA’s regional best club beer provider for the last 3 years. For the year 2017 we were the winner in the category of Best Local Club. All CAMRA members are welcome in the Club. Just show your CAMRA membership card to our bar staff and you will not need to pay our £1 guest fee.
Premium Cask Ale: We have two premium ales available. Our guest ales change two or three times a week. We also stock a number of guest bottle beers. Why not come in and have a pint?
Entertainment: The Club has two 60″ TVs. One in each bar. We have also retained the old 37″ in the Lounge Bar. Each bar is capable of showing different channels at the same time adding to the variety of sport events we can show so even less excuse for not coming down to the club and watching all the top sport in HD. We aim to show all major sporting events available on both terrestrial, Sky Sports and the BT Sports channels.
Broadband. The Club provides free wireless broadband connectivity. Need to do some work but fancy a pint as well? Come down and try it out.
